Chengwei Yi received his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology from Nanjing Agricultural University in China, in 2016. Then, he started research work from 2016 as a master student in East China Normal University. His research work was focusing on optogenetics and synthetic biology.
From 2016 to 2019, He participated in a program funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, including two aspects:
1.Design, construction and application of a far-red light induced Split cre-loxP system.
2. Design and construction of far-red light-controlled transgene expression devices in prokaryotes.
In 2019; He received his master’s degree of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. From 2019 to 2020, he joined the GeneTech Limited Company in Shanghai, China. His research work was focused on development of human MGMT gene methylation detection kit and Cancer (Lung cancer, Breast cancer) pathology detection kit.
In September 2020, He became a new researcher as a PhD student in the team of Prof. Dr. Andreas Möglich in the University of Bayreuth. His work is focused on researching the plant Phytochrome B incorporating biliverdin and light-dependent interactions.
